Artist Statement:
As an artist, I really work very hard to develop my paintings to communicate to others about the beauty that exists in every snapshot of the moments of our lives. I strive to captivate the emotions, behaviours and movement of my subjects as they blend with their surroundings. The first step in the process in developing and creating my artwork, I research and read as much as I can about my subjects, their environment and find the meaning of their emotions in the moment which I will recreate on a canvas. My goal is not to only capture the object of my artwork as I see it in my eyes but to also feel and relate to these feelings. I want my audience to have the opportunity to feel the emotions that my subject and I feel during these moments. I make it an effort to breathe life to my work for my audience to enjoy the journey and the experience. My challenge in the future is to capture that moment and recreate it for my audience and seize that moment for the people to remain in their memory.
The artists that inspired me to paint impressionist art were Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Konstantin Razumov, Leonid Afremov, Henri Matisse and Anna Razumovskaya as they recreate movement and figures in their artworks to each with their unique style.
